Special 04: AOP x Daddy Dailies

Thriving in chaos to make movies

The daddies from Not Your Daddys Films recently invited me on Daddy Dailies for a crossover episode.

On a film set, ‘dailies’ are sent out after a shoot day so you can see the work in progress. Daddy Dailies are conversations with industry professionals that go behind the scenes so you can see what work went into the process, hear how the final product was achieved, and be better armed to succeed in this industry.

Tune in to hear how Emmy-nominated producer Carolina and Vika Stubblebine consider finding collaborators is like dating, why producing is about thriving in chaos, and how to master the art of cold outreaches.

Vika is an actor, writer, director, and stand-up comedian who most recently wrote on CBS's S.W.A.T.. She is a co-founder of Not Your Daddy's Films, a social impact organization committed to empowering and educating women and non-binary filmmakers through screenings, panels, a podcast, and more. Vika is an alumna of Sony's Emerging Writers Program, whose directorial debut, Lonely Mary, premiered at the Santa Monica Festival and won Best Director and Best Ensemble at the Independent Short Awards. As an actress, she has appeared in shows like How to Get Away with Murder and Insecure.

Tune in!

“Writing to a number means that you understand the budget… that you can’t have four explosions in your script, or you can’t add a dragon at the last minute.”
